Southeast Kansas Education Service Center - Greenbush
Community Learning Centers

Program Description:
The Community Learning Centers operate in partnership between Southeast Kansas Education Service Center - Greenbush and local school districts.  The programs are designed to provide adults 18 and older a chance to earn their high school diploma through computer-based curriculum and offline assignments.  Community Learning Centers offer an individualized program for each student with flexible hours using internet delivery of the curriculum. Many sites are open 12 hours a day allowing full-time employees the opportunity to attend school before and after work.  The Community Learning Centers also work with local high schools to provide an opportunity for high school students to recover credits so that they may graduate on time with their peers.  The sites also offer computer training to community members through the LearnKey software.

Services we offer:
The Community Learning Centers provide adults with an opportunity to earn their high school diploma as well as credit recovery programs for current high school students. The Community Learning Center sites provide computer training through the LearnKey software. Each site may also offer additional services in conjunction with local school districts and communities, such as tutoring, enrichment classes, workshops and seminars.

How does this benefit schools:
Participation in the Community Learning Center program benefits schools by providing a second chance for adults in the community to earn their high school diploma. Current high school students attend a local Community Learning Center for remediation and/or enrichment as well as credit recovery so that they can graduate on time with their class.
