District Profile Project

Program Description:
The Greenbush District Profile Project is a tool for districts to use that allows them to make data-based decisions. It provides school districts with a comprehensive written report of data and information gleaned from various data sources. The document synthesizes massive amounts of data and information into a single streamlined document that can be utilized for long range planning, ‘State-of-the-District’ reporting, budget development, school improvement, public relations, and human resource management.  Each profile includes data summaries of key areas and highlights strengths and areas for improvement from an objective and independent analyst.

Services we offer:
The profile has been used by school administrators both as a stand-alone program document and it has also been integrated into the long-range planning offered to schools. Districts can choose to include the following information in their profile:

  • Executive Summary
    • Summary of district strengths and areas for improvement
  • Demographics
    • District, county and state comparison of population and socio-economic data
    • Local school demographics – enrollment trends, class size, ethnicity, and State math and reading assessments
    • District prior–to-current year and five year trends
    • Comparison of student group performance by grade
    • Comparison of district performance to state averages
    • Achievement gap between student groups
  • Other Standardized Assessments
    • Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS)
    • Measures of Academic Performance (MAP)
    • Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS)
  • Kansas Communities that Care Student Survey
    • District risk and protective factor profiles
    • Current substance use by grade
    • Student delinquency
    • District comparison to county and state averages

How does this benefit schools:

NCLB and school improvement initiatives requires school districts to continually monitor data reflecting student achievement, demographics, as well as other variables needed by administrators and school boards to make informed decisions involving curriculum/instruction and budget.  The Greenbush Data Profile Project will specifically target the need for schools to follow data-driven decision making models.  The profile provides a framework to monitor long term changes in student performance, workforce demographics, and community influences.
