Focusing on the negative effects of alcohol and drugs, and the positive effects of diet, exercise, and overall healthy living, the LEC’s concentrate efforts with the help of Lou-Wheeze, which helps students get a better understanding of what happens when you smoke; TAM, the Transparent Anatomical Mannequin which shows student’s locations of body organs; as well as the most popular feature, Harold, a hand puppet, which sees approximately 8,000 students annually and talks to them about healthy living and reminds them that they are a unique, one of a kind individual.
Services we offer:
The Life Education Center has two mobile units, one of which will come to your district directly to provide health and wellness activities as well as those components inherent to the Life Education Center which continues to allow your district to meet the human sexuality mandate. We will continue to incorporate our component on bullying into specific class sessions as well. New additions will include more interactive technologies in the form of interactive white boards and touch screen technologies which will allow your students to interact even more during their visit on the LEC.
How does this benefit schools:
By allowing school districts to meet their human sexuality mandate as well as the bullying componet required by the state.
