Program Description: Special Child Clinic is coordinated through the Education Service Center and sponsored by the Services for Children with Special Needs (formerly known as Kansas Crippled Children) and the Kansas State Board of Education. These clinics provide secondary level evaluations for area students and preschool children. The evaluators consist of a Developmental Pediatrician, Motor Development, Speech/language Therapist, and Psychologist. A nurse from the clinic is also available during clinic times.
Services we offer: This is an evaluation by qualified team of pediatric experts for children with special healthcare needs.
How does this benefit schools:
- There are no costs to the parents or the local agency
- Save considerable time and travel
- Diagnosis for children difficult to obtain locally
- If further evaluation or testing is recommended by the team and the family n meet criteria the funding can be arranged through Services for Children with Special needs.
