Program Description: The focus of School Improvement Services for the 2010-2011 school year will be to assist all SIS member schools to increase student achievement and close achievement gaps by facilitating and sustaining a continuous improvement process. Greenbush School Improvement Services has been reorganized to better assist member schools, increase student achievement, close the achievement gap and sustain a continuous improvement process. The reorganization aligns School Improvement Services closely with state efforts, the Kansas Learning Network and recommendations from Cross and Joftus. All trainings and site based staff development provided through Title I and Title II Consortiums will be included under the reorganized School Improvement Service umbrella.
Services we offer: Membership to School Improvement Services gives districts access to research-based processes, programs, and models, as well as, center and site-based professional development; web based staff development and technical assistance.
Benefits for member districts include:
- District staff may attend center-based professional development sessions including multi-tiered systems at Greenbush and Topeka and online web based professional development opportunities. A $120 per participant value
- Districts are eligible to receive 33 hours of customized onsite professional development.** School districts will pay only expenses and materials. SIS encourages that three hours be comprehensive staff development planning. Hours can be rolled over with a maximum of 40 hours. A $9900 value
- Each School Improvement Services district will have access to and training for the Kansas Process for Advancing Learning Strategies forSuccess (K-PALSS). A $6400 value
- Access and training for the Greenbush/Kansas Learning Network Online Needs Assessment. A $1000 value
- Each School Improvement Services district will be assigned a School Improvement Services consultant
- Online Curriculum Alignment Process designed to help schools tightly align local curriculum to state standards as recommended by KSDE and the Kansas Learning Network as being best practice. A $1000 value
- e-Seminars- Use the power of the web for your professional development. Contact hours available, flexible, available 24/7, and easily accessible! A $120 per participant value
- Live Streaming- Can’t make it to the workshop site? You can now view workshops from your desk or at home! Selected SIS workshops are available for live streaming. A $120 per participant value

Membership Fee: $2,000 plus $6.25 FTE Additional time purchased at $150/hour plus expenses and materials **Additional charges may be incurred for any presenters, consultants or services that can not be delivered by SIS staff.
