Crisis Intervention
Program Description:
Crisis Intervention is designed to meet the individual needs of students who are in crisis with appropriate intervention services. The overall goal is to maintain as normal a school day as possible. The project is designed to minimize the glorification, sensationalizing, and over memorializing of crisis events. All intervention personnel have a minimum of 10 hours of crisis specific intervention training.
The Southeast Kansas Regional Crisis Response Team:
- Responded to more than 500
- Can provide a school district with appropriate information and technical assistance to enable them to provide this necessary and timely service for area school districts.
Services we offer:
As a member of the program, schools are provided with:
- Literature review on suicide and crisis intervention
- Model intervention policies
- Sample school policies
- Team training model
- Resource guide
- Recommended follow-up training
- School Safety Model - Approved by National School Safety Center
- Two-day baseline training for Regional Crisis Response Team Members
