[ARCHIVED] Deal with student data? Read this.

We have a new service for encrypting emails called Virtru.

For any employees sending private information to anyone outside of Greenbush, those emails should be encrypted before being sent. Private information includes student names, date of birth, Social Security Number, diagnosis, and services being received. When in doubt encrypt your email!

This does not apply to employees who have a greenbushhealth.org account. It only applies to those with greenbush.org accounts.

Please note: Those using Zix, it is no longer be available. Please follow the new steps for encrypting e-mail:

  • Keyword Encryption: An email will be encrypted by typing #secure#, including the pound signs, in the subject line of the email.
  • Chrome or Outlook Users: Plug-ins are available to make email encryption easier. Once the plug-in has been installed, any new message created will have a slide button at the top to encrypt the message.
  • Anyone with the Virtru plug-in can send encrypted mail. To install, visit https://www.virtru.com/install/. Select the download button for the appropriate application.
  • Virtru App: Available through your phone's app store.
