Transition Alliance
Breaking Down Silos. Building Bridges.
Kansas has been tasked with improving post-secondary transition processes for students with disabilities state-wide. Considering the complexity of services and the individualized support for each student, their families and their plans, this is a fairly monumental undertaking. Join other professionals who support people with disabilities and their families across the state of Kansas to learn about and network with other organizations. This is open to anyone who supports this process, including educators, school administrators, instructional coaches, job coaches, VR Counselors, CDDOs, benefits specialists, etc. In this group we learn from each other and the more diverse we are, the more opportunity we have to make a difference in the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families! During the 2020-2021 school year, the event was held virtually and FREE to anyone who is vested in improving post-secondary outcomes for people with disabilities and their families!
All of the sessions have been recorded and linked to this page and the resources that were shared by each presenter have also been linked on this page.
What is the Transition Alliance?
The Transition Alliance at Greenbush works with professionals of all backgrounds to ensure that they have the skills and training to improve practices and provide comprehensive wraparound support for students with disabilities transitioning from public education to adult service providers.
Our main goals are to:
-Provide participants with professional development and training
-Support people with disabilities and their families across the state of Kansas
-Establish a professional learning network that can make better futures possible
-Equip professionals with the tools they need to provide individualized support to each student and their family
At Greenbush, we believe that every student, no matter their ability, deserves the best chance at success. Transitioning from a school setting into adult life can be a difficult and uprooting experience for many students facing challenges, and this is what the Transition Alliance is focused on improving.
Why Participate?
Join other professionals who support people with disabilities and their families across the state of Kansas to learn about and network with other organizations. Here are some of the benefits of joining the Transition Alliance:
-The program will introduce participants to a network of organizations that are committed to improving education standards for students
-Through a combination of web-based and face-to-face coaching, participants will be taught how to implement best practices and what resources to provide
-Participants will finish the year having gained skills and knowledge on how to help students and families transition to adulthood successfully

Who Is the Alliance For?
The Transition Alliance is open to any professional or self advocate who supports families and people with disabilities. The focus is on the process of transition from the school setting to adult living so that everyone experiences a good quality of life.
Anyone who supports this process can join the program, including educators, school administrators, instructional coaches, job coaches, VR Counselors, CDDOs, benefits specialists. The best part? It’s free!
