A Fresh Look at Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Support Planning – Lawrence
Join us for a full-day workshop designed to empower educators with tools and strategies to better understand and support student behavior. Rather than stopping at surface-level interpretations of what a child is trying to “get or avoid,” this session dives deeper, focusing on identifying the lagging skills and unmet developmental needs driving behavior.
Through a brain-based, skill-focused lens, we will explore how to conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) that set the stage for Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) that are trauma-informed and responsive to neurodiversity. Participants will critically examine how these approaches compare to traditional behavior models—and why they are more effective in addressing the complex, individualized needs of students.
Whether you’re a teacher, specialist, or administrator, this workshop will deepen your capacity to create supportive, inclusive environments where all students can thrive.
