Welcome to the Greenbush Gifted Education Program! Our project-based learning program serves gifted students throughout the Tri-County area, providing opportunities to explore, create, collaborate, and grow.

Computer Science
Dive into the fascinating world of computer science! Our dynamic technical cohort is gearing up for an exciting 2026–2027 school year filled with creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. Students will build their skills in Scratch, Java/JavaScript, Python, Blender, and GameMaker while exploring exciting applications of technology in animation, game design, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital media. Through hands-on projects and real-world experiences, students will discover how computer science connects to creative and practical careers while developing the skills to create, problem-solve, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life.
College Prep
Prepare for life beyond high school! Our College Prep cohort is designed to help students build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need for success after graduation. Students will visit Emporia State University, participate in ACT preparation, connect with successful gifted alumni, receive guidance with scholarship applications, and explore college and career opportunities. Through hands-on activities focused on life skills, financial literacy, goal setting, career exploration, and planning for the future, students will gain practical tools and experiences to help them make informed decisions and confidently take their next steps after high school.
Project Based Learning
In this cohort, you’ll dive deep into a project you’re passionate about while developing valuable skills in leadership, presentation, organization, research, and reflection. You’ll connect with an industry expert, conduct an interview, create a prototype, and explore meaningful ways to engage the community in your work. Students in 8th through 12th grade can also learn about opportunities through the Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) program which will prepare you for real-world experiences and future careers. The year will culminate with the opportunity to showcase your project and celebrate your learning at the EXPO on May 5, 2027.
First Lego League
Biodiversity shows the health of our planet by how plants, animals, and ecosystems work together. Similarly, the FIRST LEGO League community shows how powerful teamwork can be. When people with different ideas and skills collaborate, they can solve bigger problems. Scientists and engineers around the world help protect nature by observing animals, monitoring plant diversity, and creating technology inspired by the natural world. This season, FIRST teams and supporters will take inspiration from the natural world and from one another. Using STEM, teamwork, and creativity, participants will explore how innovation can support biodiversity, strengthen communities, and help build a healthier, more connected planet. Together, we can learn from nature and design a thriving future for our shared home.
