Workshop 3: Building Bridges: Semantics & Syntax Made Accessible for ESOL
Focus on semantics (word meanings) and syntax (sentence structures) within the layers of hanguage . Learn theory and practical applications for teaching vocabulary relationships and syntactic awareness, and patterns through speaking, reading, and writing. Reconsider the impact of the layers of language on the comprehension of everyday interactions and academic content. Collect techniques for building language complexity at the sentence level with ESOL students and students in need of additional language support.
