In this training, participants receive additional instruction that prepares them to assist and support their peers in the implementation of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts® (CKH) Process. Participants will also receive resources for supporting students experiencing homelessness. Training is from 8:00-4:00 with lunch provided.

Participants will learn to:

• Mentor their colleagues in implementing CKH concepts and skills
• Respond to peers’ questions about how to handle specific student situations
• Review key skills and behaviors of the EXCEL model
• Support peers in developing their own self-managing groups
• Use the EXCEL model to identify and support students experiencing homelessness.
• Review resources available to Kansas educators; including the McKinney-Vento Handbook for Local Liaisons, Allowable Use of ARP-HYC funds, and the LEA Liaison Toolkit.
