For Educators Teaching Grades 1-12
Millions of students linger through school struggling to comprehend grade-level text. For a large percentage of struggling readers, decoding weaknesses are one of the primary causes of their frustration. Fixing these issues can promote better comprehension and more fluent reading. Therefore, functional strategies and targeted instruction are key components to successfully helping these strugglers. This workshop is designed to efficiently deliver the background knowledge needed to successfully diagnose, group, and teach emerging and struggling readers in grades 1-12.
Educators will leave our workshops with:
•An understanding of why students struggle with decoding and the impact this has on comprehension
•Tools and knowledge needed to effectively diagnose decoding issues in students of all ages
•Functional teaching strategies to provide age/grade-appropriate decoding instruction in grades 1-12
